  • I know that I am a day early, but I wanted to be sure to wish you a very Happy Birthday!  I hope this finds you happy and well.

Thank you again for being such a wonderful teacher.  I know that HHS students will never forget you!

  • Did you catch this? http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20645521,00.html

From the TODAY show this morning.

  • Mrs. Cook, I keep seeing you pop up on this website / blog.  So nice to see your face and read your comments.  I was your copy editor on the annual for Class of '71 and enjoyed the time spent.

I, too, retired this year, after 30 years with a large, international corporation.  One of the things that made me most valuable to the company was my ability to expain complex rules and functions in simple terms that all employee levels (and customers) could understand.  Whether communicating orally or in various written forms, I attribute a lot of those communication skills to the time I spent in your classes and on the yearbook staff.

    Thank you!

  • Mrs' Cook,

I am also from the class of 1972. Since then, I have earned my BA in Sociology, and a Master's in Criminal Justice. You were a wonderful influence. We, the class of 1972, would be honored to see you again at the next reunion in September of this year. Robert Ayo has the information about it. God bless you. You are a treasure to us all.

    Connie Ragan,

  • It would be great to see you again.  Maybe the next time the Class of 1972 has a get together.  I'll ask Gordon Hewlette to make sure he lets you know when it is.  I really enjoyed your classes.
  • The first is "Trace Their Shadows" set on Lake Dora. the second is "Shadows over Cedar Key" set in Cedar Key, the third "Homosassa Shadows" set on the Homosassa River, the fourth is "Micanopy in Shadow" set, obviously, in Micanopy. They are all available on Amazon or Barnes and Noble on-line if not in a local bookstore, although I'm not sure if the first, published in 2001, still is. It's a series featuring a young woman who's a newspaper reporter. Would love you to read them and see how you like them.
  • Wow, four murder mysteries!!!! I love reading murder mysteries. What are the titles of your books? Are they on sale anywhere? The little town where I live has a tiny library with a very small selection. Whenever I can, I donate books and National Geographic magazines to them. I'd love to be able to locate your books and purchase them.
  • Hello Mrs. Cook,

It was such a wonderful surprise to find you on this website. You were also so kind and caring. I wanted to let you know that you were, and still are, very appreciated. Thank you for giving so much to so many.

    Sincerely,

    Phyllis
  • Hello Mrs. Cook,

My name is Jerry Comellas C/O '80. I was in your English class for a short period of time because I believe you retired during the middle of that school year. I recall that Mrs. Saunders relieved you when you departed.

I am a Civil Engineer (located in the Tampa Bay area) with decent writing skills, which is an unusual trait for an engineer, and I have you to thank for that.

    Hope you are doing well.

    Sincerely,

    Jerry
