About Me:

Hi everyone. OK...first things first. For those of you that knew me as Paul Cherry... I changed my last name to a family name on my mother's side (Restivo) when I turned 18. I'll give you the longer version later if you want. After HHS, I went into the US Navy for 4 years, spent 8 months in the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm and finished my tour in Jacksonville. Right after the Navy in '92, I stayed in Jax and went to the Police Academy. I have been with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office ever since. I have 2 sons and we all live here. I get down to Tampa whenever I can to see my folks and visit other family and friends. I am also on FaceBook. Being in my profession, I don't put too much info online anymore, but feel free to contact me.

  • Hi Paul. A Sound System Reunion is being planned for 2010 and I want to make sure you’re included. Please drop us an email at soundsystem.hhs@verizon.net so that we can better reach you directly. I promise, your email address will not be shared with anyone without your permission. In addition, if you haven’t already, I would encourage you to join our Sound System Group Page and share your memories with others…Thanks, Robert Ayo SS ‘71

  • I couldn't resist either...I guess I wanted to see the legs with the kilt! LOL. I'm a bit older (class of '74) but love the Big Red Band....and anything with HHS. I was the worst clarinet player ever to march in the band. But I was grateful to be there. My primary instrument was the bassoon but you can't march with that big thing. They taught me the smaller instrument for marching and I played bassoon the rest of the time. Such wonderful memories! BTW - great tats!
  • Fellow sax player, welcome to the BIG RED BAND group. I played in Stage Band 3 years (no Freshmen in 1981), MB, CB, etc. My class had Mike Scaglione, Wayne Gallops, Allan Sams, etc....a great year to be in the band.
    I still do play & I have an 70s & 80s band....Gigs were my college work.
  • Hey Paul, there is now a group for Sound System members if you'd like to sign up. I've been talking to a couple of people from the class of 71 & 85 about doing a reunion concert. Let me know if you'd be interested. We did one back in 90 & it was a blast.
  • Couldn't resist checking out your page. Great photos -- didn't see any bagpipers though. I guess I'm the first from my class to join the web site. It was advertised in the HHS Terrier Talk alumni newsletter. Hopefully, more of us really old folks will join. Chris did a great job designing the site.
  • Nice new pic!! :)
  • One thing I have always taught my daughter is to be respectful of law enforcement. God bless you for what you do... be careful and stay safe.
