In looking at the pictures of you, your wife and your sons I can see much of you and your father in all of you after all these years. Not taking anything away from your wife - a beautiful family - the Lord has blessed.
Just wanted to say hello again and let you know that I am finding other former HHS students in our area of north Texas - the latest is Mildred Eloise Smith Winters HHS c/o 1947. Her husband has been in church music part time in baptist churches in addition to his teaching in Texas. They live in Plano, TX. Hope you and your family are staying healthy and doing okay. Blessings - Leslie
I too was a student of your father's at Dowdell Jr. High. I didn't care much for school at that time - most of my teachers were less than inspiring. I loved your father's class though. He always called me Mademoiselle, in person and in notes, because of my name. He was one of the few at the school who encouraged me to press on and do well - even in the classes I did not like! I'm sorry to hear he is gone (from the comment below). I am glad he was a part of my life.
We don't know each other, but I just wanted to write and tell you that your dad was one of my history teachers when I attended Dowdell Jr. High. I was so sorry to hear of his passing a few years ago. He was one of those teachers that you don't ever forget. I enjoyed his stories. I thought the world of him and till this day I cherish the long happy-gram note teachers used to give to their good students. I still have that note he wrote to my parents. There's just some things in life we don't forget.

What a pleasant surprise. I knew your dad even though I did not have any classes with him at HHS. In the 1951-52 school year when I was attending Memorial Jr Hi we lived in the house apartment next to your mom and dad on Giddens Ave at 9th Street near the intersection of Nabraska and Hillsborough Aves. I can remember you father and his voice lessons at home - I could hear them since we were right next door. I cannot remember you when you were little. Weren't you called "Skeeter"? It is thoughtful of you to notice me - on our HHS site. Since you left an Email I will Email you.
My first year at HHS the Hillsborean was dedicated to your dad (1955). I still have that Hillsborean as well as the others - Got one each of the three years at HHS (1954-57). Are your father and mother still alive and do they still live in the Florida area?
George we are not far from one another since you live in Sherman. I live in north Ellis county just south of Dallas. As I said - will communicate more on Email. Blessings to You and Yours, Leslie brown
How fun to see your e-note today! And I have to smile at the Baptist pastor update! (we are still active members of WBC where we were married 39 years ago and our youngest was married this year!) Do you still sing? recitatives?
The Texas address is a surprise--so far from home! Maybe the military or ministry calling?? Is that why you never attend the reunions?
It is neat to know that you also raised boys. Bill and I have 3 sons, 35, 33, and almost 31, and were blessed with twin grandDAUGHTERS 3 years ago!! I'm in pink heaven!
Our PhD--the middle and only single--son works for the usda in South Carolina. The other 2 live and work here in Tampa. All were HHS graduates--3rd generation! (Our youngest graduated from Carson-Newman too!)
We too feel very blessed.
I love cyberfriends! Great way to reconnect and keep in touch!
