To my fellow Terriers of the Class of 86... and any Terriers of other classes that want to attend....especially 84, 85, 87.... Here is the planned schedule of events for the Class of 1986, 30th Reunion:
Sept. 30 (Friday) 7pm-10pm---HHS Homecoming football game against Chamberlain ($5 admission to game). They are also calling it the BLACKOUT game, so they want everyone to wear Black. Check in with me at the ALUMNI table once you come into the dogpound for some Terrier beads. Please sit in alumni area where you will see banners and balloons, so it will be easier to find each other for fun prop photos since it will be a packed game. (FYI...the classes of 1996 & 2006 will also be at this game celebrating their reunions as well)... If you would like to have a school tour, one is available at 530pm sharp at the bell tower entrance and will end around 630pm in time for the game. After the game, ABC Pizza, is an option for those that want to go.

Oct. 1 (Saturday) 7pm until ? ---Meet & Mingle at Jackson's on Harbour Island. Meet at the outside bar area. Pay your own drinks and meals on your own dime. Jackson's will validate your parking pass for the first 2 hours. I suggest arriving before 10pm since Jackson's gets really packed.

Oct. 2 (Sunday) 1pm until ? --- Meet at Curtis Hixon Riverwalk area by the Children's Museum (there is parking available by the hour at the Poe garage if you can't find parking on the street). Bring a blanket and pack a picnic then enjoy the beautiful area of Downtown Tampa. Go for a stroll down Riverwalk, by foot or rent a bike. If you want to have some food and drinks, then walk down near the convention center to the THE SAIL pavilion on the water. If you stick around the park till 6pm there's free yoga. Lots of fun stuff to do for the day with classmates!

I hope many of you will come to all or at least one of the gatherings. I look forward to seeing my fellow Terriers. Please spread the word to others that may not be on my email distribution or that are not on facebook. Go HERE for our Facebook page.

    GO BIG RED!!!

  • Hi Marcia
Thank you for your comments I'm blessed and God is good. You are right the little one keep us going all the time but the 16 year old is more to handle lol.
  • Marcia,
    Thanks, Leslie
  • Marcia,
I heard that they are building a new Infantry Museum at Ft. Benning. Since you live in Columbus I thought you might fill me in when you have time. I assume you probably know a little something about it. Would love to come to that area some day to see it - have always wanted to visit Ft. Benning but never did.
Do hope You and Yours are well and okay - Love and Blessings to All,
    Leslie Brown
  • OMG, Marcia...Has time stood still.
You look great and what a beautiful family. Time has been kind to us...I'm married for 20 yrs now and we have a 18 y/o son at college. Congrats on your retirement and for going back to school, isn't it fun. I'm trying to finish my PhD. myself and my husband use to teach English for the University of Phoenix some years ago.
Have you gone to any reunions? Lets keep in touch.
  • Congrats on retirement! Thats awesome. I salute you. My wife is an accountant and we live in Pa. (I hate the cold and still miss home). I finished up after 21 through reserves though not all active. I hope you didn't have to deploy to Iraq. I saw that Jenkins did and that he was wounded also. Thats a shame. At least he made it. I was there on the initial push and the first year of occupation and was wounded twice but lucky enough to come home intact. Really made me feel guilty. I did not know Jenkins that well just enough to say hello back then. I think I will say hello to him soon. You look great and have a beautiful family. Take care and stay safe and Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
  • We get about 3-4 days of rain per year here - I miss the rain! My kids dream of snow, but I'd settle for a good cleansing downpour! As a SAHM with the Embassy community, it is much like a military community. True, many of the moms I know are NOT American, but most are expats. We're all in the same boat and cling together. We love the local community too, but reality is, we are foreigners. Good you have your church for community. Yea... adult conversation is a life saver!
  • Hi Marcia,
You have a lovely family :-) Thanks for popping by my page. 20 years?! Congrats! I loved the Army. My body should have joined the AF though. A knee injury, then a back injury, held me back from promotions so long that I didn't think I'd ever be competitive - and I really wanted to be a SGM! Decided I'd take my IT skills and go while I had a chance to move on. I miss the military... but State Dept provides a similar community. I worked with my husband up until last year, when I quit to be a stay-at-home mom. Wow. This has got to be the hardest job in the world! But definitely the best :-)

I know what you mean about feeling the need to PCS. We've lived in this same apartment for FOUR years! Longest I've been anywhere since I was 17yo. Longest my husband has been anywhere. Our kids are 5 and 7 though, so it will be a big change when we move them next year. How is Georgia? Haven't been there in awhile. We were at Gordon for awhile and it's pretty country.
  • Hey Lady. Congrats on the retirement. Cant believe we are old enough to retire. Congrats on going back and getting more education. You Go Girl. Stay at home mom too. Ohh Im really haten!! The church you attend is that Chris Mitchell that went to Hillsbprough or someone different? Good Luck on your new venture, don't let anyone stop you. Remember Yes you can!!!
  • It was great seeing you also and it probably won't be the last while we are both are still here in georgia
