About Me:

I met my husband Joseph C. Ayo about two years prior to my graduation at HHS. We were married in March of 1941. Later that same year, our lives were turned around beginning with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Soon after, Joe joined the Air Force and before you knew it we were living in Utah where he was stationed before transferring overseas to Iceland where he served in the Bomb Group. When he came home he met our first born son for the first time. We have four children total, all HHS graduates, Joe (1962), Ralph (1964), Maria (1966) and Robert (1971). In addition we have six Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. When my husband retired from The Tampa Tribune in the 60's, so did I. The Tribune job was a real family affair for us that we all worked together on. Over the years we had accumulated several investment rental properties throughout Ybor City which we eventually sold off. This enabled us to travel extensivally throughout the United States and abroad including Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy, Greece and Russia. The love of my life eventually took ill and passed away in February\1999. I now live with my daughter Maria Ayo Wilson. I've learned how to play some games on the computer and when my daughter makes a vacation trip she usually lets me tag along. After all I've always considered myself a great "Back Seat Driver". I love watching movies and can still complete the daily crossword puzzel. Also, I can argue politics with the best of them. Note: No, I don't fool much with computers and don't have an email address. My son Robert will be monitoring this page and will be sure and forward any comments or notes that you would like me to see, so please don't hesitate to drop me a line.
