About Me:

Married to Tracy Hoeft (also class of '84) since 1986. Living the happy suburban life in Clearwater since 1997. We have two children: Michael, age 16 & Kelly, age 12 (going on 21!). Tracy has remained in the musical instrument business for his whole career. In 1999, we started Michael Kelly Guitars (named for the kids). We sold our interest in that business as well as two others in 2004 to a company in the industry. Tracy stayed on with them and is their Director of Marketing, having the time of his life conquering the (music) world. I have been a stay-at-home mom since I was expecting Michael. The "stay-at-home" moniker is kind of misapplied since I spend all my time driving kids to music lessons, friends houses, school events, etc. The kids have both been home-schooled part time through 8th grade. Michael now attends the public high school near our home. So now, it's just Kelly and me for a couple of more years. Tracy and I were both members of Sound System 1983 and 1984. Would love to hear from fellow SS members and 1982-84 HHS alumni!!

  • Hi Laura. A Sound System Reunion is being planned for 2010 and I want to make sure you’re included. Please drop us an email at soundsystem.hhs@verizon.net so that we can better reach you directly. I promise, your email address will not be shared with anyone without your permission. In addition, if you haven’t already, I would encourage you to join our Sound System Group Page and share your memories with others…Thanks, Robert Ayo SS ‘71
  • Mom and Dad moved to Inverness about 5 and a half years ago. I lost my job a couple of years ago and moved to Oklahoma (nasty place!) and when I moved back to FL I couldn't get a job - so I came home.

It doesn't seem possible that it has been 25 years. It still feels like it was just yesterday in a lot of ways.
  • Hey Laura!
  • Isn't that scary!!!
  • Hello Again - You had me laughing this morning!!! They do have better things to take these days besides Geritol. HAHAHA!!! It is so hard to believe 25 years have passed - and to think, we had SuperBowl here again 25 years after we all performed in the Half Time show. I was feeling REALLY old this month. You and Tracy have a beautiful family - I'm so happy for the two of you. Let me know how both your Mom's are doing - they were so special to many of us. OH - to make you feel even older, I'll see about scanning our First Grade class picture. HAHAHAHA!!!
  • Hey Sweet Laura! You have no idea how often I think of you! I am glad to see that you you and Tracy are still going strong. What a beautiful family you have. I hope you are well - it certainly looks like you are. I was always grateful for your kindness to me when we were in Sound System. Thank you so much for that. Take care my dear. It's so good to see you again.
  • Hi Laura - I still have our first grade class picture with the two of us in it at Egypt Lake Elem - Can't believe we were in Sound System 25 YEARS ago (84). You're kids looks great - so do you and Tracy. You guys look the same, except your brown hair. Always had the best of times with you guys.
  • Laura, how nice to hear from you! Yep, it was me who had the unfortunate experience of driving into our family room. Like lots of homes in Florida, our family room was made by enclosing the former carport, so our driveway lead directly into the family room. As a new driver, I got confused and hit the gas instead of the brake and as a result bashed-in the concrete block wall and damaged our TV - without damaging the '74 Oldsmobile!

So great to see that you and Tracy are still together! I am still looking for Mr. Right. I think of Tracy whenever I hear "Leave It" by Yes (he used to play that album a lot in 1984). Isn't it funny how people might have a strange association with you and you are completely unaware.

    Happy New Year!

  • Hi Laura,
All is well with the Brown family. We're enjoying life and the aging process. : ) Of course the new baby is keeping me on my toes (or should I say crawling on my kness) and getting up earlier on the weekends than I'd like but I'd almost forgotten how much fun they can be.
We're living in New Tampa and I'm still with WUSF Public Broadcasting.
Allon and I still see each other on a regular basis. We'll all have to get togerther soon. This website brings back a lot of great memories.
