About Me:
Retired after 35 years of lumber manufacturing. Married 42 years to the former Joyce Davis of North Florida. We have twin sons (33), both married, 3 grandsons, one on the way and yet to be identified. We live in SE Hernando County with cows in the back yard and no home owner's association. I like to work on old Fords and Joyce keeps the place in flowers. I have been active in the reunion planning for the Class of '63.

Joel,
Great job on the 50.Especially on the "Memories " posting.
Sooo sad
Hi Joel & Joyce!
The boys are fathers...time flies! Don and I are also retired and like to ride the motorcycle to Brooksville at least once a week when it's not raining. Please give Joyce a hug for me.
Joel I am looking forward to attendind my 1st reunion in 2013 and hope to have many more. Have the need to reunite with old friends and classmates I know you will do a good job on the planning.
See you at the HHS Oct shindig??
Nice to hear from you. We still love the Brooksville area. We are off Cortez near the Suncoast. I wanted to let you know that Dewey lives near Dade City, in the country near "Happy Hill Road". After 40 years of marriage, his wife died from cancer and he was a widower for five years before hearing from a girl friend that he dated prior to the 40 year marriage. They got married a year ago and seem very happy. He is 72 years old (that makes me 70) and his health is not real good right now. I will tell Dewey about hearing from you. He always thought a lot of you. Barbara (Manley) Lackey

I can not believe that Ronnie Jernigan was in our 5th grade class. I didn't really "know" him but his niece, Tami, is one one of my best and dearest friends even though she is probably 15 years younger than I am. After Larry and I divorced I changed jobs and went to work at Bay Concrete there on Orient road (part of Cone Bros. at the time and later Fla. Mining). I worked there for 8 years prior to Jim & I marrying. Then we moved to Madeira Beach. When working at Bay Concrete we used Jernigan Trucking to haul for us and that's how I got to know Harry (one of Ronnie's brothers who has also passed away), who was very likeable, just like Tami. Anyway, Tami came to work for me at the end of her Senior year in high school and then full time for a while after that. I don't remember how long. I enjoyed her so much and we had some great times away from work too. We've stay in contact and talk a couple of times a year. She's still the same Tami with her quick wit and loving personality. She has a sweek mom too. I don't remember Ronnie passing away but I've probably just forgotten. Tami had a younger brother, Jamie, that was working under his car and the jack slipped and the car crushed him to death. Thanks again for this story. TTYL
After you mentioned Ronnie and I looked back at the picture I can sort of remember that kid's first name being Ronnie but the Jernigan part has left me completel, like other things, lol. I could also think of other first names of some of the other kids like the one to the right of Ronnie. Wasn't his name Bill?
Did you acutally wear shoes when you played outside as a kid? lol. I don't think I ever did. I was a little tomboy, I guess, as there were only boys to play with in the neighborhood so I did as they did, which meant no shoes. If you'd seen me out running the streets (like I did) you'd probably seen a little girl with black, dirty feet. See the attached picture. I'm glad I didn't stay a tomboy and think it changed around 7th grade when I hated playing the coronet in band (coronet/trumpets were for boys back then.)
That is funny about the "#1 in the #2 Business".
