About Me:

I am a CPA and certified law enforcement officer working as a Special Agent for the Mississippi Office of State Auditor. I investigate fraud and embezzlement of public funds. I went back to college and completed an MBA program in 2001. After that I took additional undergraduate hours in accounting and became a CPA in 2003. I have been living in Mississippi for 14 years. My daughter Ashley is a teacher for Hillsborough County Schools, and she has an 8 year old son, Avery.

    Karen, What duty did you get for Katrina? I was at the NO airport unloading helicopters for the first week and then dealing with supporting the various groups going into the city on search missions. I lived 14 days at gate B13 and hope to never go back to that airport. I ma on an interagency overhead management team that usually goes to large forest fires, so the hurricane assignment was new to me. Really prefer fires!!!!

    What sort of assignments do you get? Complete with defensive gear?

    Amazing thing this internet world. I see you at reunions and then find you on this page. So how are you? Life in St. Augustine is pretty wonderful and thsi summer has been too busy. Spent 21 days ona private raft trip down the Colorado River thru the Gand Canyon and then as soon as I got home have to go to CA for a wildfire assignment. Luckily my team has not been sent to any hurricanes.

    Hi Karen...Your job intrigues me. Lately I've been considering taking a few courses regarding the judicial system and investigations. One of my hobbies is genealogy and the time I've spent reviewing court documents together with my daughter-in-law being a cop for the Tampa PD sparked my interest...Robert
