I guess the first part that I thought got sent didn't transmit. :-( I started out by saying you were the first "friend" to contact me and that though I email, I distrust other forms of social media.
It's been ages since I visited this site and I see where I should update my "about me." I don't know if you heard or not, but I lost Cecil to acute leukemia in 2011 and I'm coming up on the 2nd anniversary of that date. It's been more difficult than I ever imagined it'd be, but during the weeks we spent at home with Hospice, he never failed to remind me to remember how fortunate we were to have found each other so late in life and I do treasure those 17 years! I certainly don't take life for granted any more.
That's about it. We are finally having some fall weather and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. This old beach bunny has finally gotten to the point where I hate hot weather!

About my contract job at the hospital, it just dried up in September so I found myself "retiring" for the 2nd time just before I turn 70. It was a good run while it lasted.
I really can't complain; life has been pretty good to me despite the aches and pains of aging! I have good friends and keep in contact with my stepkids, children "of the heart," even though none live in Dothan. My sister, brother-in-law, and 2 nephews also live across the U.S. so I do rely on email and phone calls to stay current. I still go to Tampa to visit relatives, but not nearly as often since my dad died in 2007. He made it to almost 92 and never lost one bit of memory. I would hope to do as well.
