  • Just got on line & noticed you responded to my post. Can you share what I put in your yearbook, or will I be embarrassed? I went to HHS during my soph yr (remembered the first day when my brother's friends were waiting to rat me, but the worst thing that happened was a popular football player made me get down on my knees and propose to him. No one actually put lipstick on me). I do remember the dances in the courtyard, football games and esp the HHS/Plant Thanksgiving games, Steak & Shake, the Colonnaide, Frisches Big Boy, the state fair & the Gasperilla Parade. Also remember a place near the school where lots of us wd go to get a burger or shake. There was a juke box and pinball machines in there. Do you remember the name of that place? It was in walking distance. I moved to Redington Beach my junior year to be close to the ocean and went to Seminole. I got homesick for Tampa and HHS and moved back my senior year to be with my friends. Johnny Gonzalez and I went steady that year and ended up getting married after graduation in August. It didn't last long as we moved in with his parents and it was a nightmare...I later moved to Asheville and lived there up until 19 months ago, when we moved to the beach. I hate taking pictures, so that's probably why I got out of it and I'm not in the yearbook. Please share more about those days and come to the reunion, even if you come alone as there will be lots of us to talk to and it won't be boring. Is that your dog in the pic? Cute...Keep in touch...my email is cindysgarden1@aol.com
  • Hey Clayton,
Glad you signed onto the site. So you are living in AL. Do you think you'll be coming to the reunion in October? I hope so. I've never been to a HHS reunion and was hoping to go and catch up w/my fellow classmates after all these years. I didn't have a yearbook, so I borrowed my sister-in-laws (my brother Wayne's wife) last month, Nancy Morales. She went to Hillsborough for 3 years and graduated in 1967, 2 years before us. I was trying to think back to the late 60's at Hillsborough and who I could remember, and you are one of the faces that I did remember. I don't remember any of my teachers' names, not even my homeroom teacher. Do you remember if you were in my homeroom or any other classes? It would be great if you wd share what you remember about those days at HHS. I do remember your nice smile and that you were kind of quiet (at least I thought you were). Cindy
